Hello,

I am a total noob when it comes to anything remotely associated to tech stuff.

I have a problem. My PC had a 25GB SATA HDD. I added a new 250GB internal HDD too. But I just connected it to the other one, coz I wanted to use the new one as a seperate drive altogether. I was showing up in My Computer for a few weeks, and now it just isnt. I tried reconnecting the wires properly as well... But it still doesnt show up.

Thanks in advance

Hi eben257,

Please check in the "Disk Management" if both the Hard Drive(s) are available. To check in the disk management:

1. Press and hold the "Windows Key" and then press the "R" key on the keyboard. This will launch the "Run" dialog box.
2. Type "diskmgmt.msc" and hit Enter.
3. In the bottom of the window that opens you will see the drives listed.
4. If the drives are listed, this indicates that the cables are good and the controller on motherboard is good as well. Right-click and try to assign a drive letter to the Hard Drive.
5. If the drive is not detected in the "Disk Management", try to use the cable from the other drive or from the Optical Drive and check if the Hard Drive is detected.

Do reply with results.
