Whenever i start my laptop it shows a disc read error and asks to restart with the ctrl+alt+del keys . I have to repeat the process at least 20 times then it shows that there is a problem with my hard drive or something like that. Then i have to repeat the process and finally it stars the start up repair and then i have to cancel it and finally the laptop starts.please suggest me what to do..

Hi Rik 2000,

This can possibly be a Hard Drive failure. Try running the diagnostics provided by the manufacturer and check for errors returned. If your computer is still in warranty contact Compaq support for repair/replacement else take a technician's help (or by yourself) and have the Hard Drive re-seated and check if the computer boots to Windows. You can refer to the Service Manual of your laptop for steps on how to re-seat the Hard Drive.
