I'm trying to restore my Sony Vaio laptop to factory settings. I've been told that holding Alt+F10 during start up will work but it just continues to the log in screen. I've tried pressing F11 too but that just brings up a screen saying operating system not found. Any help would be great thanks.

What's the model number?

Say "Thank you" 10

Thank you
On many Sony models, holding alt + F10 at boot will start the factory restore process.
If that is not working then you might have a failed hard disk. The OS not found message is consistent with the failed hard disk diagnosis. You might need the help of a PC tech to replace the HD and re-install Windows.

Good Luck
