How to connect 2 systems with bsnl type1 mode

Hello,


I've a Bsnl broadband connnection with bsnl type-1 modem(having one ethernet port only) i've one desktops, and one laptop I want to use internet on both the computer simultaneously and i connected both of them thru the 8-port10/100m fast ethernet switch ,internet is working on 1 at a time but not on both at the same time? how do i do all these?

Any help would be much appreciated in this matter.

You need a router to connect multiple computers to the same modem. A switch does not assign and manage multiple internet addresses the way a router does. Ask Bsnl if they use a PPPOE connection with a single assigned internet address and password. If they do you will need to set up the router with the assigned ID and password. Good Luck
