How to remove write protection from computer hard drive?

After running several read tests I'm getting read errors on the hard drive at a specific block. The message says to replace the disk or remove write protection. How does one remove write protection from the internal hard drive?

I suspect the hard drive is about to fail if your testing finds bad blocks.
