I've tried everything my Toshiba laptop dvd writer stopped workn

Hello,
I have a Toshiba laptop 64 bit m300 i did a clean install of windows 7 from windows vista it was all working now it shows error on DVD in device manager i tried uninstalling and it re-installs works for a bit then shows error again also tried

Step 1: Start Registry Editor
type "regedit" in the Start Run box.
Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry

1. In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
2. Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.
3. Expand Control, and then expand Class.
4. Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
5. In the details pane of Registry Editor, on the right side, click UpperFilters.

Again it worked for a bit now I am back to the same error CAN ANTONE HELP

Have updated the latest driver for your DVD writer ?

yes i have thanks for responding but its in windows update I have tried looking for another driver from Toshiba but same thing it shows it the best driver for my dvd.

What about deleting the writer through the device manager and reboot your Toshiba for Windows to detect it as new hardware ? If not, looks to me as a technician's job.

it will work for a bit then error shows up again

Try cleaning the lens. If it still fails I'm afraid you will need to call on a technician.
