My computer is not allowing me to get on the internet,i have windows XP, I first restored my laptop to a previous date and after I did that when I click on google desktop or mozilla it is not letting me get on the internet. It is saying system configuration error? help me please

I will help (and so can others) but some helpful information is needed.
Exact model # of your laptop
operating system, and service packs(?)
Who is the ISP? It it also broadband or dialup or something else?
Approx how old it is (I know this might not sound helpful, it is).
Does your ISP require any special software to access Internet?

I dont have the exact model its an old toshiba got it in 2006, I have windows XP, and I have service through Cincinnati bell, and no it doesnt require any special software, Tuesday it was fine i could get on, my computer was running a little slow so I tried to restore it to a previous time and now its saying system configuration error and the internet is not coming up

What about if you try booting in safe mode (Tapping F8 while booting) with networking, can you get an internet connection with one of your browsers?
