Ah, my friend had this problem a while ago.
Start --> Right click My Computer --> Properties --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager.
Right click your computer name and click " Scan for hardware changes "
That should do the trick.

If your running window 7.
Make sure you have not changed your default setting for your window resolution.
this is found by right clicking on desk top and clicking on to personalize then on the lift side clicking on display.
If you have in large your font size from default this can cause problem with web cam.
If you are running any other sys this advice want work.
