Microsoft Office Word 2007 - Displaying Numbers Across The Pages

Hi all

I have an issue which I have tried to find the answer to myself but have had no luck so wondering if anyone on here could help, the problem I am having is that when I open a Microsoft Office file with MS Word 2007 it is displaying numbers across each page instead of text... Can anyone shed some light on what may be the issue and how to fix said issue please? :-)

Greetings,

Please locate the file with Explorer, click right on the file icon, see what the properties are.

I suspect that it's not a word file, but a file that it should be open with another programme.

(The icon type should also give you a clue)

Its a Microsoft Office Word Document (.docx) I also have a Microsoft Office Word 97-2003 Document which is displaying the text as squares instead :-P

Is the icon displaying a large blue W?
