HP laptop does not get on...........

My HP450 laptop does not get on, on pressing power button the light on the power button & few other indicating lights get on, fan starts then stops, DVD tray too gets a motion. No display on the screen nor any sound. Its under warranty but service center is too far away. ............... please suggest a solution.

Can you start in safe mode, press power while tapping F8?

i think the power button is not working . you must give to service center.
