USB can not formulated

Hello,
I get a message telling me my USB key needs to be formatted, I click ok, try to format and I get a message saying , disk is write protected, the problem is I've been using that key for over a year with no problem, can anyone help please

Hello.

Well I have a solution for you but however, you will lose everything on your flashdisk (I think it was the purpose of you formatting it anyway right!) so here it is

Switch off your pc and boot it on safe mode. Insert the flash disk and click on "Start" then "Run" and when prompted, type in "CMD" and press "OK".

Now what you must do is insert the drive location, which is normally E: or F: and press Enter.

Leave it to format at 100% and then make a shut down. Leave it to reboot normally and remove the key when done.
