If you open up a blank word document and go to file > open
there is an arrow next to "open" if you select the file and press the arrow next to it there should be an option for "open and repair".
i believe this is in Word 2010 and above, not sure about 2007.

Are you getting error messages while trying to open Word document? If yes, then employ Remo Repair Word software to fix all types errors occur due to improper downloading, interrupted file transfer, etc.
