your requirement is not clear.
in EXCEL dates must be ENTERED either as m/d/yy or d/m/yy depending of your configurations. see control panels-region and language-short date.
once you ENTER a date like this you can format as you like
in excel 2007 or later click
home
format
format cells
choose dates
many in built formats are available
if you want some other format not in built
choose "custom" instead of " date" and type how you want it.
