Pen drive not opening due to virus

when i connect my pen drive it asks me to scan and fix my pen drive, then it asks to format it but the format is never successfull. then when i try to open it ,it asks me to insert the disk.this problem commenced while some files from my friend's computer ,i think it has got some virus
