I cannot print from the Internet since Microsoft updated my XP.

Ever since MS updated my computer and IE8, I cannot print from the internet. No matter which I use IE, Chrome, Firefox, the same happens. I think a file was removed or overwritten , and I need to fix it.
I tried removing and reinstalling them, still no. When I want to print my email I select "print" and it refreshes my screen and the printer icon does not open, and it does not print. Another problem I have just noticed, when I want to send an attachment, I have the screen where I can select "Browse" and nothing happens.
I suspect a critical program file is missing
