ok so my cd dvd drive cant be seen by my by my laptop both in computer and device manager also theres a regedit solution but on my laptop when i go intothe place where thers supossed to be the upper and lower things there not there to start with so i cant delete them

I suggest you don't play around with the registry editor.

Reinstall the driver.

when i go to the compaq website they have drivers but non of them are for a cd dvd drive
