CD DVD ROM unable to read any disc

i have a HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CT30N model in my dell xps laptop,once i disassembled my laptop for cleaning purpose since then i am unable to read any disc nor can i write any disc,but it detects the disc in the drive .
i have checked for loose end connection but that doesn't seem to be the problem,the device manager says the hardware is installed correctly,i tried 'FIX IT' from microsoft but that didn't help either.PLS HELP!!!

As an engineer, would you change the cd/dvd rom please, it mens the lens is bad and you would need it replaced, contact an engineer for that
