It's most probable that the dive is broken. Have you tested it on multiple computers?

Hi there,
Since you were able to change drivers, I presume the drive is visible in Device Manager. Does it have some warning sign, giving explanation for an ongoing issue? Can you try the chkdsk/r, /f commands? Try to check the drive with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. Check the drive on another PC and with another cable.
