Hi,

My Western Digital external hard disk is not getting detected.

I tried solution from the other forums like
1. checking the device in Device manager. Updated driver also.
2. diskmgmt.msc >> Disk 1 option is coming for initialization but giving I/O error.

Please suggest do we have any other solution for this.

Thanks in Advance!

It's most probable that the dive is broken. Have you tested it on multiple computers?

Hi there,

Since you were able to change drivers, I presume the drive is visible in Device Manager. Does it have some warning sign, giving explanation for an ongoing issue? Can you try the chkdsk/r, /f commands? Try to check the drive with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. Check the drive on another PC and with another cable.

Hope this helps
