Hello,

I am using Dell M65 Laptop, Few days back a problem occured when i try to turn my laptop on. When i press power button the motherboard fan sounds and other sounds do come, plus the 3 lights on Laptop i.e. Numlock light reamins static, Scroll+Caps lock light blinks for 2-3 minutes no display is seen and after some time laptop turns off.

I tried to reset ram by removing it but issue still stands.
i also follow the static discharge procedure given at many youtube videos but the issue remains same, i replace battery charger but issue still remains same,

Is there any way i can resolve this issue, Urgent help is requested please help

thanks,
Waqas Ahmed

Try this. Remove battery and press the power bottem for about a minute with cable disconnected, after connect to a/c current and switch it on and see.

I suggest you try connecting to an external monitor.

If you get a display, your laptop screen needs repairs. If you don't get a display, then have your graphic card or motherboard checked.

Dear,

I got it checked from Technician, 2 RAMS of 1 GB each lost plus display IC failure, Now there are 2 questions.

1. Is it worth to get it repaired one cannot gurantee long run of repaired laptop
2. If it happens due to overheatiing then there is some protective circuit installed in Laptop which forces your system to shutdown. but my laptop does not have this feature i think.

what your suggestion on it. I am thinking to buy a Lenovo Laptop

WHats your take on it

Hi

Overheating is a know issue with M65, fan those not throttle and there is no heat sink. It may occur again.

I would also look into HP.

Good luck
