No screen

i have an Asus laptop that when i turned it on one morning i had no screen.i tried removing the power and the battery and holding down the power button for 60 seconds, then reconnecting the power and try to reboot but had no luck. the fan comes on ad a couple reboot lights but an orange light shows up at the battery icon and no screen . any ideas please

Hi

I suggest you try an external monitor, this will tell if it's a monitor or graphic card issue.

i have tried an external monitor but it did not work either

why would the battery icon light be orange even though the laptop is always powered by a cord

Probably because the battery does not get fully charged and should be replaced.
