Desktop screen goes black and nothing appears

Hello,

Once I turn on my computer it shows the windows start up with the dash line going along below where it says windows. Once that is complete, computer screen goes completely black without a cursor. Nothing but a black screnn is present. Any suggestions how to fix the problem or what I need to do? Thank you.

Well the solution to that is, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. After this you should see the following (or at least some of the following): Lock Computer, Logoff, Shut Down, Change password, Task Manager, and Shut Down.

Click Task Manager! After this at the most eastern bottom of Task Manager, click New Task (I guarantee it should be there), there should be a window (short and rectangular), then type in "explorer" (NO CAPITAL AND EXACT FORMAT IN QUOTES
(NO QUOTES). Hit enter or click "ok" that should do it :)
