I can't get into my computer because forgotten password

Hi, I have an older Asus with Windows XP Media Centre version. I can't get into my computer to get all the documents I need because I don't have the password anymore. I have tried going to Safe Mode but no administrator options come up, I have tried ctrl+alt+delete twice and nothing. I really need the information off my computer. How do I do this? I can't even get to the start menu to go to control panel, etc. Please help me asap, this would be a great Christmas present for me to just get into that computer. I am the Administrator but not sure if it is under Administrator or under my name. My ex tried getting into to it so I don't know if he has locked the computer from trying too many times.
