Blue screen

Hello,
My friend recently asked me to fix her laptop, I said ok, not a problem and asked her if she had the disk, to restore it back to factory settings, she had it. The computer was blue-screening when she turned it on, the problem is even when I run the disk, setting the disk to run as the number one boot priority, it loads the files from the disk but then it blue screens again. Could you give me some advice on this? Maybe it is a problem with the inside of the computer, the motherboard or something? Thank you in advance.
