Question

Hi,

My laptop model is Sony Vaio 15'6"  model#PCG-71811W E Series VPCEH25EN. Intel core i3-2330M processor 2.20GHz. Windows 7 Home Basic(64 bit). 

Now the problem is everytime I want to login to the lapot it goes to DOS prompt and asks me to choose between two options.

1. Windows 7
2.Recomended version to repair

After I chhose option windows 7 normally it takes me to my computer shortcut and I am not able to go any other place like Drive D:\ or any other drive and I can't even view the contents. Even in Drive C:\ I can't see all contains. 

My query is since I don't have any backup disk of my genuine Windows 7. Is there anywy out I can reinstall it from online. If I click on assist button it says " Missing Operating System".

Please help.

As long as you still have a valid license (sticker on bottom of machine), it doe not matter were you get software.  Go to Microsoft and download it. Then use your certificate number to register it.

thanks so much. I m very bad with internet. If you can guide me to the steps about the links I should use for download and then how to reinstall it. I will be very grateful. thanks in advance.

Do you have access to a working computer? As you will need something to create the install disk.  I have started looking for a valid download, but so far I have found Service packs only!

Thanks for your response. However as per your suggestion I have tried the website www.microsoft.com, but there I didnot find any option to download windows 7 home basic (64 bit). I have searched in google by " how to download windows 7 home basic (64 bit) but there is no correct path to follow.

Kindly suggest me the steps to download and how to install it using as a storage by pendrive. Since my DVD ROM is not working
