Laptop display problem

Hello,
My HP pavilion laptop display isn't working properly. After I push the power button it begins to boot up normally, but then it says that it's preparing to do some automatic repair and then the screen stays lit up and you can see the cursor moving on the screen, but everything else is black. I've tried taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 60 seconds but it still doing it. I don't know what else to do
