I was wondering if someone could help me I have a wd hard drive 1 tb I lost the USB cord for it I got a new cord today from dick smith but It says I need a driver I have tried heaps on 2 different laptops and I still can't get it to work can someone plz help me I've been at it for ages and I have all my family pics on there :/

I'm sorry cable replacement didn't fix your issue last time. What model WD external drive do you have?

Also, you could try to see if the device is being recognized in BIOS and Device management and also Check and make sure that there is a drive letter assigned to the drive using disk management. In the Microsoft knowledge base there is information regarding how to change drive letter of the WD drive: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows?ui=en-US&rs=en-001&ad=US#1TC=windows-7

Hope this time the issue will get resolved.
