Hi.
Hopefully your friends girlfriend is an Administrator.
1 - Log in under her account
2 - Navigate to C:\Users\[boyfriends name]\
3 - In there will be a few files, one of which will be called "App Data".Rename this file.
4 - Log out of the girlfriends account.
5 - Log into the boyfriends account. It will take some time to re-create the new account.
6 - Do a virus check on the renamed file.
7 - you should now be in a position where you can copy the contents of the old files into the new account into the (new) Appdata account, but this is rarely required. If you do choose to do this make sure you note which files you are copying back in case the problem recurs. If that happens you can remove then using the other account.
* App Data is a hidden folder and may need you to configure the machine to be able to view hidden files. Let me know if you need help with this.

I'll let him know, though I dont trust him to do it. He might have to wait until we can meet up and I can do it for him.
