Let's get the faq over with.

I tried tons of stuff in the bios including the achi.
Tried different ports with about 7 sata cables.
Yes, both cords are plugged in.
Chip sets and bios are updated.
Set the bios to default.
And NO the drives are NOT bad. They worked like 2 weeks ago on a gigabyte board.
So please don't ask those.

To the problem. Basically it reads the drives when it wants. I bought the x99a and had the same problem. Returned it and got this. Same problem. Cannot be a coincidence. I just put my drives in. My Windows worked Then it just doesn't work. But it does. It doesn't show up as a boot device. You have to manually boot in bios. Not automatically. Then I changed a achi to legacy or something setting it worked! But guess what? The cpu fan stopped working.... What exactly is that suppose to mean?

I got a 5930k. 16gb ripjaws. And 980. A Kingston 240gb Samsung 1tb and a 3tb forgot the name but it is name brand.

What am I missing?
