When i restart my laptop the screen is black

when i update my toshiba satellite C675D, it ask me to restart it, after rebooting the screen got black, i wait for almost an hour but nothing happen. please i need help

Hi there,

Do you have the mouse active on the black screen? Is the combination CTLR + ALT + DEL working? If it is, enter Task Manager and end the process explorer.exe. From File import the process, writing explorer.exe in the line.
If this does not help you or you do not have access to these settings, try entering in Safe Mode or using the Last Known Good Configuration from the Advanced Boot Menu.

the mouse is not active and the screen is off, but the laptop is still working. i press the caps lock and num lock button but they're not blinking

in addition, my laptop will reboot if i press the power button, thank you R2D2_WD for your help

While starting, can you see the BIOS logo and can you hear the initial beep sound? If you can not, there may be some hardware issue. If you have some warranty left, contact the reseller. If the warranty has expired, I would recommend you to remove the CMOS battery for a few seconds, place it and try to boot again.
