Screen stays black

Hello,

I have a HP Pavilion model # 2000-2d10NR that I purchased about a year and a half ago. I am running windows 8.1. I went to turn off my computer tonight and there was an option that says "update and restart". I clicked this option and everything was running smoothly. It restarted and I shut it down once the updates were done for a little bit and when I came back and cut it back on I can log in with my windows password then the screen goes black and the only thing I can see is my mouse cursor. I need my computer running again....please help!!!

Have you ever tried to restart in safe mode? then try it...it may help you and if not.. post here...kioskea helps you with many other solutions..

Hi Tracy,

I would recommend you to enter the Task Manager and end the explorer.exe process. From File, reopen it, by writing explorer.exe in the line. If the situation improves, try searching for some video card driver updates.
