HP mini notebook S 110 series keyboard fault

Hello, my Hp mini keys en-block, zx,as,qw,12, ¬ , caps lock, esc have gone off line. I have no idea what happened, or what I did. I've hit system restore, bought a new keyboard, and searched for default settings. The machine is running W7 Starter on System32. I've seen things about going into TOOLS and clicking on CUSTOMIZE, but I've got no such button.
This is doing my nut in. Please help.

Yes. The notebook's keyboard worked just fine. As I say, I don't know which buttons I might have hit or perhaps even changed a mode as the machine is inclined to open up in the MODE page before I can use it. I just don't know.
I have just tried taking the battery and mains supplies out and pressing the on switch, but that didn't work either
