My computer wont recognize my headset

my computer says that my headset is not plugged in even though it does.
i cant make my headset the default because the computer says they are not plugged in (but they are) ,my drivers are up-to-date, my soundcard is working and i dont have realtek.
please help.

Hi
Try it on another computer. My guess is that the wire is faulty.
