Acer aspire v5-122p - power to laptop but no image on screen???

when I press the power button on, the blue light comes on like usual and I hear the fan however no image comes onto the screen? ive waited hours for it to turn on but screen is just black. help??

This probably requires a qualified repair shop to run a full diagnostic. Can you try using an external monitor to see if it's either a motherboard or screen problem?
