Hello,
I'm trying to add a value of "1" when a cell contains text "tribal birth" , "midwife", and "hospital birth".

The range of cells with the information is M3:M1138 and I want my results to end up in Q4. Please help! Thank you.

Is this homework? We can't help with homework. Let us know what part of =IF(logictest, true, false) you need help with!

No this is not homework. I'm accumlating a list in excel for my job. After numerous net searches I was able to figure it out.

Did you understand the if statement I posted previously? Did it apply to your application?

I have said it once, I will say it again. IT!
