If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See the Microsoft support article at:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/aab263ae-4c0a-42fc-8b3f-025abc4babb9/i-need-to-xlsx-viewer?forum=excel entitled "How to use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in."
