Cannot recover hotmail account - looks like someone else is usin

Hello,
i use hotmail.com
I got a message saying it looks like someone else is using your account.....
in the process of recovering it. I provided some digits of my mobile number.
I was sent a code from microsoft. I tried to enter the code but it would not allow
it to be entered.....
What to do? and why do you block my account anyway- if something goes wrong
i am responsible; i thank you for your concern but i dont think its necessary.
