hi,
if it is showing the same thing when connected in tv, then it may be a problem in the display settings.
right-click on the desktop and select properties.
check if the settings are correct.

i would like to help you.. hp laptop have problem specially in nvidia grapics.. if that is nvidia sure the problem is video card.. you need to dis assemble your laptop remove the motherboard on its cassing.. try to reheat the video card by 5minutes using hot air machine and sure it work normally again..
