Hello,
I've got a problem for a few days with my windows live. I can't log in on my regular account. I've kept trying, but it always says that I can't log. I checked the error number, it is 8e5e0152. I've also read everywhere on the net that many people have that problem, but there is no obvious solution to it. I tried uninstalling all my windows live softwares, deleting them from the pc, and reinstalling them to previous version, 8.5.1302.1018, but it didn't help either. I tried updating aswell, no luck. The weird thing is, I can log in on my other account that I'm currently using, so it is something account based. And another thing is, even tho I uninstall all WL softwares and manually delete them from program files folder, when I reinstall them, my settings and saved preferences are still here and apply to the newly installed windows live. Can anyone please help?

hiii , I had a reall hard time trying to get this to work and all the comments about what to do just confussed me so in the end I contacted the msn support staff and they told me to follow these instructions:

1. Close Windows Live Messenger. Beside the time and date of your computer, right-click the Windows Live Messenger icon, and then click Exit.

2. Click Start, copy and paste this message in the Start Search box %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ and then press Enter. Delete the Windows Live Contacts folder.

3. Click Start, copy and paste this message in the Start Search box %userprofile%\ and the press Enter. Delete the Contacts folder.

4. Try to sign in and verify if the issue is resolved.

my msn is working fine now , I hope that this can help (:

Hey man, I got the same problem:

Can't log in to my account on MY pc,
Can login to other accounts on MY pc,
Can login on my account on OTHER pc's,

...

i just read that other ppl have this too with windows live messenger, and the solution is indeed to uninstall, and remove the Contacts list

(its mostly common that this list is in: C:/Documents and Settings/[your username]/Contacts/[your emailadress of windows live messenger] I deleted my own hotmail contacts list, and it worked great!

(ps, make a backup of your contact list or maybe you will suffer side effects such as account block or somehting)

well, good luck =D

its better you to try this(For XP):
Goto Drive C:\Documents and setting\Username\Local Settings\Application data\Now Look for windows live contacts and delete its contacts, its better to keep backup.
And For Vista its :
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ delete live contacts.
This worked for me....oh n make sure you close d windows live messenger before you delete the folder and you delete them from recycle bin as well before you open the messenger & sign in :D
