By the way, I have deleted history, cache, cookies, maybe a couple other things I cannot remember.
Internet explorer has the same issue, both on the same laptop.

Once again thank you for the link to the facebook outage page. Today it shows that the issue has been resolved in my area which is just west of seattle on Bainbridge island in Kitsap county WA but I am still unable to access facebook.
Yesterday it showed light yellow which meant there were some areas still impacted, today there is no yellow in my area so you would think I would not be encountering log on issues.
Maybe in a couple days things will change.

I suppose it is just a matter of time as they state they are working on the problem.
Once again I very much appreciate your answer, it saved me a ton of time searching for solutions which do not exist.
