Toshiba Satellite A300 screen almost black

When I turn on my laptop the screen reamains black(actually if I pay attention I can see that there is some weak lighting), but when I rotate it to form a 30° angle with the keyboard it's ok. What could it be?

This must be your backlight which is fried. I suggest you consult a technician for a replacement.

A friend told me that it should be the flat cable that connects the LCD. Why do you think that it's the backlight?

Because you can see some lighting in the back. It could also be your inverter.
