YouTube no sound

I used to have sound when playing YouTube movies or songs, but now it is gone, even though the speaker is not set on mute

Hey !

Maybe your speakers are not working anymore ?
or, try going in configuration and see if the out sound settings is the speaker.

Thank you for the suggestion, but unfortunately that isn't the answer. My speakers are working and I've tried all kinds of things but there is still no sound - on anything on line, including BBC iPlayer etc. I can listen to material that is already in the laptop, such as content of Windows Media Player.

May I suggest that you look at your browser settings.

Thank you and others for your suggestions. I am glad to say that after trying all sorts of procedures, the problem seems to have been resolved - and I'm not even entirely sure what did it! So let's hope it lasts and thanks again guys.
