Hello,

I purchased an HP laptop approx one year ago for ny 4 year old son. I have probably utilized approx. 2 hours total time on the laptop. It worked fine for the first couple of times I used it, but after a 3 month hiatus from me using it...I attempted to turn it on and nothing happened! I mean NOTHING!!!! Not one light, nor motor ran. I thought th battery was drained so I even charged it over night and waited till the next day...still nothing! I went as far as even buying a new battery...still nothing. Please help!

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

Good luck

There could be a static charge in the charger, disconnect the charger from the wall, and from itself. The charger should be two cords!

OK, hang in there.

Unplug the wall charger from both the wall, and the Laptop. Now disconnect the two cords from each other, and set them aside.

Now flip over the laptop, and take battery out. Flip it back over and open it up, and press and hold the power button for AT LEAST 30 SECONDS! COUNT IT OUT!

Now, put the battery back in, plug the charger in the laptop, plug the two cords together, and plug into the wall. Try to power it on.

IF YOU GET THE DEVICE ON, APPLY UPDATES!!!! Just in the PAST 2 months there have been over 100 security updates, and your laptop HAS NONE OF THEM.

Let us know!

you will be surprised how many times that works. You will also be amazed that 30 seconds to some are not the same to others! I encourage you to take the battery out, and look up the serial number against a warranty website here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/wc/public/home
