Enter data to run command button

Hello,


How can I prevent a command button from running before data is entered into a cell? I have a workbook that refreshes data based on when a customer number is entered into a cell. If the command button gets clicked before the number is entered, it doesn't work and the workbook has to be closed out and reopened for the button to work again. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thank you

on click of the button, check if the data is populated. if not then exit out sub
