Can you please tell me what exactly happened when you tried to install the OS? Where did you try installing the OS from - USB port or DVD ROM? Did you get any error message before the black screen?
When you get the black screen do the fan and the hard drive continue spinning or the laptop remains completely calm? If you do, then I would suggest the following thing:
Reboot your laptop into Safe mode with Command prompt enabled in administrator mode. When you do that, enter the following command:
sfc /scannow and press Enter.
Wait for some time for your system to be repaired and come back to share the results.
