Excel and dates

Hello,

I have three columns, for example 19-Nov-15 then 26- NOV-15, I want the third column to = the most recent date of the two +7. because I need two first ones to stay different and the third column to be the most recent +7 I am having difficulties figuring it out

=IF(A1>B1,A1+7,B1+7)

Where A1 and B1 are the dates.

What happens if the dates are the same?
