E drive hanging

I m hardy
I m facing problem with drive e
E drive having 102gb space and fee space only in mb may b because e drive is fully used its habging but i cant afford formating the e drive when ever i unloack e drive and open it it takes to much time abd if i try to transfer the files to other drive it start hanging freezing after opening e drive within 5_10sec it gt stuck hanged and frezed plz help i dnt want to loose the data which is in e drive
