                    Hi osi,
Hope this works for you :
- Select the cells you want to highlight when the cell you are testing is negative.
- on the "Home" tab of the ribbon select the "Conditional Formatting" button and choose "New Rule"
- at the top of the box select "Use a formula to determine which cells to format"
- at the middle of the box (Format values where the formula is true) type the following (replacing my Test Cell which I am using cell B2 with the cell you are testing)
- at the bottom of the box click on the [Format]button.
- in the new box that opens click the "Fill" tab
- choose the colour you want to be the highlight colour. In the other tabs you can change font and font colour and ....
- Click the [OK] button. The box closes.
- Click the [OK] button again. The box closes.
- Click the [OK] button once more. The box closes.
DONE :^)
Please let me know how you get on.

I really appreciate thank you messages as a payment for solving issues :o)
