hello my name is Steven,

I have been given a Compaq x1000. it will power up and the power light, battery light & wifi light all light up. the cd starts spinning and try's to start.however, the screen doesn't even flicker or anything.not sure what to do...

I have taken the battery out and tried stating it up with and with out the battery in. still nothing.

anything anyone can help with i sure would like to us this laptop for something other than a dust collector

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

hi stev,

did you try to check the RAM?
Open behind remove the RAM and put it back...

dvd drive spins lights come on and still no screen.that you for your input it is always appreciated., Steven
