Windows is loading because I hear the system sounds but screen is blank .I tried the F2 and F12 I can read all of that but no change with windows screen.I rebooted many times.I dont have any bacuo or recover cd to do a re-stall I just got the desktop few months ago was in big mess and just about had it 3/4 right.
I would love any help I can get I dont know much about xp plus it is a dell and not supported so that made it a big headache.Plan it get it going and give to my Mother in law. Facebook and games is her limit> We both on limited income so a free computer sound great. We both would be very thankful for all ideas

Try booting into "safe mode" (press F8 after you see the Windows logo) and then change the screen resolution and or revert the video driver to the last version. In general driver changes on an older computer have no practical value. They are more likely to have negative impacts than positive.
