Dell dimension 2400 w/ aoc monitor

so I've moved my desktop computer from one room to another and hooked everything up were it should be but when I turn on the monitor and then the pc it will turn on but there is no signal going to the monitor and then the monitor will go black until i turn it of and back on again I've tried unplugging the vga and plugging it back in on both sides the monitor and pc but nothing seems to be working. Please help I'm not the smartest when it comes to desktop computers.

It's possible the video card was dislodged from the socket during the move. You will need to open the computer case and remove the card. (do not touch the metal contacts with your fingers). You can then clean the contacts with a clean pencil eraser and reinsert the card.
